Group discussion tips
Group discussion is one of the most important round of hiring process for any company, MNC like cognizant seriously consider group discussion round and to ace that round you must follow some well defined structure for GD. following are some of the tips to perform good in group discussion:
- Listen Carefully – listening is one of the most important skill of any communication, so don’t just hear but listen to that topic or thing carefully and try to understand the meaning.
- Take the Lead in Discussion – If you understand the topic try to make some instant key point about the topic to speak on and try to initiate the conversation by youself.
- Communicate Effectively – when it’s your turn to speak on topic try to convey your point in correctly structured sentence and speak clearly as well confidently.
- Don’t get Panic – If you forget any point or don’t remember what to speak, then don’t get panic. Slow down your speed of speaking and try to recall the key point and if you still don’t remember then give chance to other to speak.
- Work on Body Language – Body language is a form of non-verbal communication so be confident in your body language. Don’t make any unwanted facial expressions, dress professionally, sit up straight, keep your cool, and never appear tense.
- Stay Calm, don’t be Aggressive – While discussing if someone doesn’t agree with you or your saying then don’t lose your calmness. Never show your aggression in discussion it might create a bad impression for you.
- Stay on Topic – Focus your contributions on the topic at hand and avoid distracting into unrelated subjects. Keep your points concise and relevant to maintain the flow of the discussion.
